Ancient Skis

The following series of images are photographs taken at the ski Musuem at Holmenkollen, Oslo , Norway. They show the ancient skis (or parts of) found in Fenno-Scandia from bogs.

The ski on the left is the long sliding ski and the one on the right with a skin (usually seal skin) base is the kicker ski used to grip the snow and propel the skier forward.
