Groothuysen, Joan Joan was an Olympian, in achievement and in spirit. She was a world-class Nordic skier who represented Canada at Innsbruck (1976), Lake Placid (1980), and at numerous World Cups and World Championships.
Harvey, Alex Alex is Canada’s most successful male Canadian cross country skier in history. He is a five-time medalist at FIS Nordic World Ski Championships and has won 26 individual World Cup medals. At the 2011 World Championships in Oslo, Alex and team-mate Devon Kershaw made history when they won gold in the team sprint
Harvey, Pierre Pierre was the first Canadian male athlete to compete in both a winter and a summer Olympics in the same year (1984 Sarajevo in cross country skiing and 1984 Los Angeles in cycling).
Holloway, Sue Four-time Olympian Sue Holloway made history in 1976 when she became the first woman to compete at the summer and winter Olympic Games in the same year. She made her Olympic debut in Innsbruck as a cross-country skier before being part of the canoe/kayak sprint team that summer in Montreal.
Jones, Perianne Perianne made her World Cup debut in December 2005, had her first full season on the World Cup circuit in 2008/2009 and competed in two Winter Games (Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014).
Kershaw, Devon Devon is one of Canada’s most successful male skiers, winning 10 World Cup medals, 3 gold and becoming a World Champion in the team sprint at 2011 World Championships in Oslo, Norway, teamed up with Alex Harvey.

Pilcher, Al Al competed for Canada in the 1988 and 1992 Winter Olympics. His most prominent result was a 7th place, 50k finish, at the 1989 World Championships in Lahti, Finland
Scott, Beckie Beckie is Canada’s most successful female skier having won Gold and Silver Olympic medals as well as 17 World Cup medals. Beckie became the CEO of Nordiq Canada in the spring of 2025.
McKeever, Brian Brian is Canada’s most-accomplished Paralympic athlete, having won a total of 20 medals at six Paralympic Winter Games, including 16 golds, 2 silver and 2 bronze. Brian transitioned to become the the National Paralympic coach at the end of his career.
Puiras, Reijo An athlete and builder, Reijo was named to the Canadian National Ski Team in 1974. His first international competition was the 1974 FIS World Championships held in Falun, Sweden. In 1976, Reijo competed at the 1976 Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck, Austria.
Renner, Sara Sara was a four time Olympian, competing in 1998 in Nagano, Salt Lake City 2002, Torino 2006 and Vancouver 2010. Sara won a silver medal in the team sprint at the Torino Winter Olympics in 2006, with team-mate Beckie Scott .
Thériault, Milaine Milaine was a member of the Canadian National Ski Team from 1995 to 2006. She is a three-time Olympian – Nagano 1998, Salt Lake City 2002 and Torino 2006.
Valjas, Lenny Len Valjas skied at 2 Olympics (Sochi 2014 and PyeongChang 2018) and was also a medalist on the World Cup circuit. He won two silver medals and three bronze medals in individual World Cup competition:
