John Semmelink Memorial Award : The John Semmelink Memorial Award is awarded annually by the Canadian Snowsports Association in recognition of a competitor who through leadership, conduct and ability best represents Canada in International competition. This award is the highest honour the CSA confers and it is in memory of H. John Semmelink who lost his life while representing Canada in the Arlberg-Kandahar Races on February 7, 1959 at Garmisch-Partkinkirchen, Germany.

 

DEE READ MEMORIAL AWARD: DEE READ MEMORIAL AWARD Recognizing exemplary commitment and contribution by a FIS TD on behalf of Canadian Snowsports The Dee Read Memorial Award is presented annually with the purpose of honoring a Canadian resident FIS Technical Delegate for life-long commitment and contribution to snow sports. Dee Read was an outstanding athlete; builder; and official in the ski community. Canadian Champion in downhill and alpine combined in 1948, she went on to serve as a coach, athletic leader, Board Member and international official. She was one of the first female Technical Delegates named by the FIS world-wide. She was named to the Canadian Skiing Hall of Fame in 2001 in recognition of her life-long commitment and passion to snow sports. To qualify for this award, a Canadian Snowsports Association FIS Technical Delegate must be nominated by any one of the nine (9) CSA Member Disciplines. The nominated individual should have acted as a FIS Technical Delegate within the Canadian snow sport system for at least ten years.

PATRICIA RAMAGE OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER AWARD: Recognizing outstanding volunteer contribution by a Canadian FIS Committee Member The Patricia Ramage Outstanding Volunteer Award is presented by the Canadian Snowsports Association in recognition and appreciation of many years of outstanding volunteer service to Canadian snow sports. The award is to reflect appreciation for those whose volunteerism to snow sports has gone well beyond the norm. It is presented in honour of Patricia Ramage who worked tirelessly on behalf of snow sports for more than 35 years. Some of Pat’s responsibilities included acting as administrator, technical advisor, team manager, organizer of major events, fundraiser, training camp organizer and CSA representative to FIS in the Nordic disciplines.
