Old Ski Techniques

Cross country ski techniques have evolved over the years from a shuffle-like motion to a hard kick-like motion. The body position has gone from a bent over to a more vertical stance while the finish line modes have essentially reversed. The old skiers had a tendency to dive over the finish line but with the introduction of the timing chip attached to the leg just above the ankle, skiers now lunge the leg forward and sit the weight on the trailing ski.
