Ski Clamps and Tip Spreaders

Ski clamps and tip spreaders were made from wood and had metal hardware to tighten the clamps. Tip spreaders were used on solid wood skis to keep the curve in place over the summer when skis were in storage.  Example as below provided by Ed Amann of Canmore, AB.

This beautiful pair of skis includes a unique camber block and tip spreader that has an elegant look and feel, but is at the same time practical. Wooden skis of this vintage tended to loose their curves with extended use and storage, so blocking the camber and tip curve was important.
